Find out the asexual flag meaning
The asexual flag is composed of 4 horizontal stripes of different colors and equal width.
From top to bottom, black represents asexuality, grey represents "halfway" sexual orientations (between the orientation of sexuality and asexuality), white represents sexuality, and purple represents the whole asexual community.
The asexual flag was created in 2010 through an online voting system to represent the asexual community within society and the LGBT movement. Namely, it is only since WorldPride 2017 in Madrid that asexuality has been recognized as a full sexual orientation.
The diversity of the asexual community
An asexual person is a person who does not feel sexual attraction to others or to himself or herself, but may wish to enter into a romantic relationship with a partner without feeling any sexual attraction to him or her. In this context, the romantic relationship sought is referred to by terms such as hetero-romantic, homo-romantic, biromantic, pan-romantic.
There are several types of asexual persons within the asexual community: the aromantic (no romantic attraction felt and/or platonic relationship sufficient to fill them), the semi-sexual (does not feel sexual attraction to another person unless they have created a strong emotional bond with him/her) or the graysexual (who navigate in a kind of in-between, between sexuality and asexuality), the lithromantic (who experience a feeling of love without seeking reciprocity).
