The Official Flag and Coat of Arms of the Allier department

The current banner of Allier is a rectangular tricolour flag with a design representing the Coat of Arms of the Allier department in France. This symbolic emblem shows 3 colours: blue, gold and red. A translation from French Heraldry suggests that the flag of Alliers shows an Azure blue field of a rectangular shape. On the blue background, you will find several golden Lillies (Fleurs-de-Lys d'Or) covering the entirety of this rectangular flag. The golden lillies are a heraldic symbol of French history and French royalty. A single stripe of Gules (red) diagonally crosses the entirety of the flag design.
