If you want to celebrate Seville with style for all your events, consider buying a beautiful Seville flag. We sell several models of flags of the province of Seville as well as city flags of Seville in the form of eyelet flags, scabbard, cords and table flags.

The Seville city flag is a red flag with the yellow lettering "NO 8 DO", an inscription in the form of a rebus which is both the official motto of Seville and comes from one of its historical legends. NO8DO is a rather difficult rebus to interpret for a neophyte but AZ Flag reveals all its secrets to you.

First of all, it must be understood that the sign 8 does not correspond to the number 8 but to the design of a stylized woollen skein: called "una madeja" in Spanish. Thus when we pronounce this rebus in Spanish we obtain "NO-MADEJA-DO" which gives the sentence in Spanish "No me ha dejado" which means: "She did not abandon me".

Legend has it that the son of the governor of Seville Alfonso X, nicknamed "the Wise One" in the 13th century, tried to usurp the throne, but the inhabitants of Seville remained loyal to Alfonso. To pay tribute to the city of Seville, Alfonso cried out "She has not abandoned me" (No me ha dejado) which became NO8DO, the city's motto. Nice story, isn't it?
