flag of Christmas Island is the symbol of the Australian outer territory of Christmas Island. The flag of Christmas Island is composed of two triangles, the upper green triangle for vegetation, the lower blue triangle for the Indian Ocean and three island symbols: the island map in the centre of the flag, the Southern Cross on the blue triangle and the island's endemic bird the yellow-billed phaeton on the green triangle. This civil and state flag has been in official use on Christmas Island since 2002. To know more about Australian symbols, enjoy visit our Australia flags category.
