In this section you can find the current flag of Mayotte. Officially renamed as The Department of Mayotte, it is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean located between Madagascar and the Mozambique coast. Mayotte is composed of 2 main islands called Grande-Terre and Petite-Terre and other small islands like Mbouzi and Mtsamboro. Mayotte is an overseas department, but also a region of France like Martinique and Guadeloupe among others. Mayotte covers an area of 376 km² and the number of inhabitants is estimated to be 186452. The languages used are Swahili (Mahoran), Comorian and Malagasy. The only official national flag of Mayotte is the blue, white and red tricolour french flag of the French Republic. However, there is an unofficial flag of Mayotte with the coat of arms of the island of Mayotte centred on a white background on which the name of the island appears in red capitals.

As seen above, the unofficial flag of Mayotte consists of several symbolic emblems. The main elements of the coat of arms (two six-petalled flowers on a red background surmounted by a crescent moon on a blue background in horizontal stripes), flanked on each side by a seahorse, appear on a scroll with the motto Ra Hachiri, which translates into Maori while we are vigilant. This flag, which is not officially recognised by any official text, is nevertheless included in the acts of the General Council of Mayotte, the island's only supra-communal community.

AZ Flag offers you Mayotte flags in several forms such as small table flags, flag with pole sleeve, nautical flag as well as the corded flag.
