The Midi-Pyrénées flag consists of a red background and a golden Toulouse cross ( also called the occitan cross in heraldry). This flag is one of the symbols of the former region Midi-Pyrénées, located in the south of France bordering Spain, formerly the largest region of France. Since the territorial reform of 2016, Midi-Pyrénées region has merged with the former region Languedoc Roussillon to form the new region Occitanie.
