The Franche-Comté flag is composed of a dark blue background, bars of gold and a golden lion in the centre (crowned lion rampant with red claws and tongue). It is one of the symbols of the french Region of Franche-Comté, a former region located in the north-east of France (nowadays part of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region) and formerly called "Comté de Bourgogne".
