The Moroccan flag consists of a red background with a green six-pointed star in the centre. The flag of Morocco, or Cherifian flag, is the symbol of the Kingdom of Morocco, a country located at the extreme northwest of the African continent forming the Maghreb with Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania since 1915. This 2:3 ration flag was adopted 3 years after the beginning of the period of the French Protectorate in Morocco. Present on Moroccan public and military buildings, the flag is raised during national holidays or when the king travels to Morocco. The current flag of Morocco is both the national flag and the state maritime flag, it is the official emblem of the Moroccan Constitutional Parliamentary Monarchy. It is an evocative symbol of Moroccan patriotism and national pride.

The Moroccan flag used before 1915 was entirely red and symbolized the great Alawid dynasty that has ruled Morocco since the 17th century. The green pentagram was added for the simple reason that the old red flag had to be distinguishable from the colours of the French Navy of the time. The merchant flag has a yellow crown in the upper left corner, on the side of the carrying mast, surmounted by a small yellow 5-pointed star. The naval flag of war has the same yellow symbol (crown and star) in the 4 corners of the flag. Buy a Moroccan flag : symbolism of the Moroccan flag

The deep red colour of the background is the colour of the Alawites, one of the 6 ruling Moroccan dynasties still in power today under the aegis of King Mohammed VI. The green star was introduced in 1915 by a royal decree of the Moroccan sultan Moulay Youssef. The origin of the meaning of the five-pointed pentagram is religious, it represents the seal of Solomon, a biblical figure and famous king of Israel renowned for his wisdom and wealth. In fact, the green star decorating the Moroccan flag counted 6 branches, symbol of the Jewish values of the colonial and monarchical makhzen, it also appeared on the Alawite coins. In 1948, the year the state of Israel was created, a 5-pointed star replaced the 6-pointed star of David mainly to distinguish it from the flag of Israel. The green colour of the star strongly evokes hope and courage.

Another of the symbols of the Moroccan monarchy is the coat of arms of Morocco. The Royal Arms of Morocco on the Royal Arms of Morocco also include a green star in the centre, an ornate shield with a golden sun on a blue sky topped by a golden royal crown. The support of the royal coat of arms consists of a sinister lion (heraldic word for the left side) and a dexter leopard (right side). Under the shield is a verse from the Qur'an written in Arabic that says, "If you make Allah triumph, He will make you triumph. The royal coat of arms of Morocco decorates our flag 90x90cm sheath hanger and our table flag 15x15cm in light polyester of very high quality.
