It is one of the symbols of the People's Republic of China, the most populous Asian country in the world and on the way to becoming the world's leading economic nation. China flags for sale: Secrets on the history of the three main Chinese flags

Going back into the flag history of China, among all flags, adopted on 27th September 1949, the flag of China was hoisted by Mao Zedong on 1st October 1949 in Tian An Men Square in Beijing to officially proclaim the birth of the People's Republic of China under the aegis of the Chinese Communist Party, which ended the Chinese Civil War between the CCP and the Kuomintang Nationalist Party. The red color is the symbolism of the Revolution and the five five-pointed yellow stars, a large star in the center and four small stars arranged in an arc of a circle around the large one represent the four Chinese social classes unified under the Chinese Communist Party of Maoist China. The four classes of the Chinese people described by Mao included peasants, proletarian workers, the petty bourgeoisie and the literate. The arc of the circle of the 4 golden stars also recalls the geographical shape of the Chinese territory. The original flag design of China, developed by a citizen of Zhejiang province named Zeng Liansong, included in the yellow star the symbol of the hammer and sickle (emblem of Lenin's communism) but the detail reminiscent of the USSR flag was abandoned.

The Chinese Red Army also has its own flag: the flag of the People's Liberation Army: a flag on a red background with a golden star in the upper left corner, on the mast side, as well as the Chinese characters 81 (Mandarin: 八一) which refer to the 8th month and the 1st day, i.e. 1st August 1927, the date of the first uprising of the Red Army against the Kuomintang which became the anniversary date of the Red Army.

The Chinese national flag, the red flag with yellow stars, succeeded the previous regime's flag, the flag of the Republic of China, a flag with 5 equal horizontal stripes in red, yellow, blue, white and black that represented the five main Chinese ethnic groups: Han (red), Manchu (yellow), Mongol (blue), Hui (white) and Tibetan (black). This flag is more commonly known as the "five-coloured flag".
