The black world flags generally symbolize two different historical realities. There are two well-known black flags such as the black flag used in piracy and the black political flag used by the anarchist movement! The black pirate flag

Traditionally, the pirate flag type "sand sign" (black flag) was used on pirate and privateer ships at the beginning of the 18th century to frighten enemies or encourage them to surrender! During a battle at sea, British pirate ships and French buccaneer merchant ships used to hoist a black flag (historical colour associated with death, mourning or hell in the Western world) to invite the enemy fleet to surrender without resistance! The black flag was therefore different from the red flag or Jolly Roger pirate flag (skull and crossed bones) which were flags of piracy that meant "No quarter! ». It should be noted, however, that customs could vary according to the pirate ships and the captains of the ships used to hoist the various maritime flags of war.
